Delta Phi Gamma exists to promote the growth of young ladies by balancing, strengthening, and challenging the mind, body, and soul. This is achieved by providing a real and true sisterhood where we do not claim to be perfect but strive to accentuate our sisterhood based on our diversities. We do not rely on strength in numbers but on the quality of the sisters in the organization. Our sisterhood is beyond the physical letters that represent us because we are not just true to ourselves, but to those around us as well. Delta Phi Gamma strives to set itself apart by being an organization that shows unconditional sisterhood, helping to provide a support system for ladies during college and beyond. This sisterhood is a family of strong women who have all found meaningful relationships with one another and have taken this strength to help those around them by reaching out to the community.

In the quest to make a change for the good...
five young ladies congregated in the Spring of 1998 with the goal of establishing a sisterhood that encircled one main virtue: BALANCE. Finally, after months and months of collaboration and long night meetings, the Constitution was born and the Creed found its way into the heart of the newly formed sisterhood of Delta Phi Gamma. Needless to say, many obstacles had to be overcome to finalize the establishment of this organization. Fellow friends as well as other organizations during the time refused to recognize nor support the newly found sisterhood. Many words were spoken and many actions were taken deliberately to diminish the credibility and dignity of the organization as well as the "fore-mothers" that stood behind it. Despite the negativity inflicted on the organization, the Founding Mothers continued to stand strong with great faith that "good" will triumph over "evil," just as long as their intentions remained good. What exactly were their intentions? The Founding Mothers wanted to educate young women about maintaining their mental, physical, and emotional health. In doing so, they stressed the importance of balancing, challenging, and strengthening the Mind, Body, and Soul of each individual. In addition, they wanted to build a strong sisterhood that will provide a solid foundation for these young ladies, during their journey to achieving that ultimate goal set by the organization. The vision of the Founding Mothers (Elynita "Iza" Arella, Eliza Cambay, Ellaine Loreto, Tiffany Nguyen, Anne-Marie Perez) was finally captured in the Fall of 1998. The first class made of fourteen bright ladies, better known as Alpha Class crossed over in the year 1999. Followed by the addition of twenty-two strong ladies the following year in 2000, when Beta Class crossed over. Gamma Class established their mark in 2001 with five bold ladies. In 2002, another set of twenty-two unique ladies came together to be known as Delta Class. After welcoming eight energetic ladies of Epsilon Class in 2003, we commemorated the 5th Year Anniversary of Delta Phi Gamma.  During 2004, at the end of our sixth year as an organization, we celebrated the crossing of  the six diverse ladies of Zeta Class into our sisterhood. The growth of our organization continued as we welcomed the fourteen enthusiastic sisters of  Eta Class into our organization in 2005. After a strong year of learning and growth in 2006, Delta Phi Gamma crossed eighteen passionate ladies known as Theta Class into our sisterhood. As we begin to forge a sisterhood with a new generation of strong women, we strive to stay true to our roots and always remember the struggle of our founding mothers to create the sisterhood we cherish, while making a constant change for the better.

"...the ultimate goal of this sisterhood we call Delta Phi Gamma."

"Balancing, Strengthening, and Challenging the Mind, Body, and Soul of Young Women"
Wow...sounds nice doesn't it...but I bet most of you out there have no clue as to what this really means. I know this quote may sound a little cliche-ish but in actuality, this is the ultimate goal of this sisterhood we call Delta Phi Gamma. These three aspects: mind, body, and soul, make up the basic foundation of the growing human race; apparently, that applies to all of us. Yes that means you too. Some people are stronger in certain aspects and weaker in other aspects of this foundation. For example, women are generally found to be stronger mentally (Mind); men are usually found to be stronger physically (Body); and finally, some may be stronger emotionally (Soul). This imbalance is prevalent in most women in college, during a time when most, if not all girls, are still trying to "find themselves." We believe that by achieving this balance, it would make the road to "finding yourself" a little bit easier, and the meaning of life a little bit more visible. By strengthening and challenging the mind, body, and soul of each individual, it will only bring out the best in "you," the you that no one ever knew, the you that you have always been afraid to reveal to anybody, even strangers. In this sorority called Delta Phi Gamma, strangers learn to appreciate you for what and who you are. These strangers inevitably become "one" with you; they become the epitome of what we call sisterhood. I'm not trying to convince anybody anything...this is who we are...and what we are all about...take it for what is worth, but let me tell you this...it's definitely an experience of a lifetime...don't miss out...come rush.

Sincerely,
Tiffany Nguyen | Founding Mother

President 1999-2000, 2000-2001

presidential address 2001-2002
The Greek letter Delta is a symbol of change in the year 2001-2002 definitely was a time of one. I had the privilege to witness twenty-two young ladies change in such positive ways that they did not think were possible. They matured, they strengthened, and in the end, achieved a level of sisterhood that cannot be even be described by word, just feelings and emotions. This class brought with it such uniqueness ranging from nationalities, location, but most importantly personalities and self. Delta Class proved to me once again that such a diverse group of young women could use their differences to learn from each other and as an advantage to achieve the common goal.

Not only did this year bring out a change in Delta Class, but this year brought a change to Delta Phi Gamma. This year had a lot of firsts ranging from different locations for such things such as retreats to the first time a different president took charge. I have to admit I was not only stressed but also scared at so many different occasions. Scared that I could not live up to the former president, scared that this organization would not flourish, and ultimately scared that I would fail. I did learn a lot this year, not only about this organization but also within myself. I learned that Delta Phi Gamma is not only growing, but that we are a strong organization. All the potential that I first saw in Delta Phi Gamma is coming together full circle and i am blessed to be a part of this.

Finally, I would personally like to thank Delta Class for pushing me to my limits showing me my inner strength. The fear that I once had coming into the year has been relinquished and i can honestly admit that my life has changed in a positive way. I have not had such an experience since I crossed with BETA CLASS sisters. Delta Phi Gamma thanks for "The Journey" and there are definitely more memories and experiences to come on the road ahead.

testimonials:

"There’s a different between a sorority and a sisterhood. I would never have envisioned myself in a sorority, but I’m more than proud to admit that I am apart of a sisterhood of strong women. Going to college and moving away from htmlpage was an experience all in its own, but what really made my college experience was being part of an organization like Delta Phi Gamma. Simply put, this organization is my family away from htmlpage. The reason I have so much pride in this organization is because I see the positive change it provides for young women, how much it has helped me grow as an individual, and the real bonds I have with my sisters. This organization embraces diversity and has shown me the importance of being open minded and giving back to the community. I honestly feel blessed to have such great people in my life."

"I never thought i would be a part of a sorority, but I figured I’d just try it out. But then i met a group of girls who came to be known as my pledge sisters. The journey we took made us closer and helped us to develop a bond. Those bonds that I made were strong and reciprocal. There was always someone to relate to, to talk to, to calm me down and help me. So, amazingly, here i am today, a VERY PROUD member, sister, in this organization known as Delta Phi Gamma. I wouldn’t envision myself anywhere else. The memories made, the bonds, the sisterhood ... my heart ... mind, body, and soul."

"DPG is one of the best things that have happened in my life thus far. It has been a pleasure and the experience of a lifetime going through everything with my sisters and meeting some of the most interesting girls from all backgrounds, ones that have taught me life lessons and have shared many memorable moments with me. It's an honor being able to call them all sisters and not just friends and to be able to give back to the community representing this wonderful organization. It has taught me to love and sacrifice uncdonditionally for my sisters and because of that, I am a stronger and better woman.  DPG isn't like any other sorority, because we are a sisterhood that's real, genuine, and unbreakable."

"Delta Phi Gamma is unique in so many ways. First off, my sisters are so tight! Everyone is unique in their own little way and I think it’s cool that we all can share special bonds no matter how different we are from each other. The times we spend with each other are always meaningful, FUN, and worthwhile. "
